It was a 2 Sticker day @ The Dalles Oregon

We woke up made some eggs and sausage on our camp stove. Then made our way 30 miles south to crater lake.

We learned a few fun facts. Crater lake was created 7700 years ago as the result of a volcanic eruption and it’s the deepest lake in the US. On the Crater Lake rim road we found the best stretch of 7 turns we’ve hit so far. After many hours droning along I5, our knees and backs were asking us why we didn’t we just take a convertible. That little stretch of road refreshed the joy of being on 2-wheels. It was like skiing through a patch of untouched powder or eating the perfect bite of sushi.

At the end of the road was a visitors center where we found our first top box-worthy sticker.

After crater lake we rode another 200-250 miles north through Bend and to the Dalles; where we spent the night. We thought the drive through Oregon would be another boring straight shot to get us to our destination. However, we were treated to breathtaking landscapes full of canyons, rivers, views of Mt Hood, and even a waterfall, all of which were made so much more beautiful by our low expectations.

Once we made it to the Dalles. We camped at our first Bunk-a-Biker, a community of motorcycle riders who volunteer space for other riders to stay as they ride through an area. The community is spearheaded by a women named Zee who can only be described as a badass nomad. Zee has been traveling all around North America for the last 7 years on her 2016 Versys 650, the same motorcycle that Adam rides!

Our host’s name was Lori she met us with hot burger on the grill and let us camp in our back yard. We spent a couple hours swapping stories. She’s been a Bunk-a-Biker host for 7 years. We had so much fun that we had our first “2-Sticker day.“
