Ride like the wind bullseye @ Rathdrum, Idaho

Rode 380 miles through the Idaho gust from The Dalles, Oregon to Rathdrum, Idaho.
The day started with a nice corkscrew road up to a vista of the Columbia river. We learned that the Columbia river looks much wider in person than it did when playing The Oregon Trail. We crossed the river via a grated bridge that our motorcycle tires didn’t love, but going slow and steady with eyes toward our destination kept us safe. Then followed the Columbia River via highway 14 for another hour.
We turned north off highway 14 to take highway 97 and were greeted by views of Mt Saint Helen’s and Mt Adams (coincidence? I think not!).
Through the rows of wheat city and the fierce wind we kept our spirits high counting the numerous hay trucks that passed. After several hours of avoiding the interstate for the serene 2 way highways of the American country side we acquiesced to I90 in washington And made our way ove the Vantage bridge. Where we found our last lookout of the day.

We passed through Washington and made it to Idaho where we stayed with another Bunk a Biker host, Randy. He had a beautiful home with a little outdoor patio covered in signs of fun sayings such as “remember, you can be anything you want (except younger)”. He also has an 8 acre wooded backyard with dirt bike paths winding through. We walked the paths a bit and admired the plethora Sasquatch of Sasquatch signs; our favorite: “Sasquatch saw me, but no one believes him.”

In the morning we made our way over to an American diner and ordered too much food:

However, we’ll need to hoard every American calorie we can muster to get us to our next destination… over the Canadian border to Banff!
