The Plan
Our break from working will be split roughly into 4 parts:
- West Coast Fun
- Adventures in Asia
- Road Trip: Mad Helen Fury Road
- Ski Bumming
Part 1: West coast fun
Approximate Date: 2024-06-28 to 2024-10-01
Our last day of work is Friday, June 28th. Saturday, June 29th we're packing the Motorcycles, and Jun 30th we're off! The first stop will be Crater Lake National Park then we'll ride and camp our way through Idaho, Montana, and eventually Banff. From Banff we're going to Jasper, then over to Vanvouver Island via ferry. From Vancouver Island we take another ferry back to the US. From there we head through the west coast possiblly taking a stop at Milo Mclver Disc Golf Course in Oregon. We'll then make our way south through Northern California and home to San Francisco. The final stats should be:
- Approximately 3000 miles (depending on how many detours we take)
- 5 States
- 2 countries
- close to 10 camp sites
Once the trip is over we'll park our butts in San Francisco until we end our lease on 10/1. During those 2 months of Unstructured San Francisco Time we're planning a trip to Tahoe with friends, flying to Michigan to spend time with family and to see the best in the world fling plastic through the sky.
We'll be sad to leave San Francisco and all the friends we made here, but we're excited for our next chapter!

Part 2: Adventures in Asia
Approximate dates: 2024-10-10 to 2024-11-28
You may notice a large gap of time between part 1 and 2, this is because we're going to be loading up Blue (our very reliable Subaru Crosstrek) and driving from San Francisco to Chicago to put our stuff in storage (Motorcycles will be sold 😢).
After a weekend layover in Miami to visit Wesley (Adam's older brother) we'll be off to South Korea where we'll spend a few days alone, then meet three friends in Seoul to begin a cycling trip. We'll rent bicycles and bike in Seoul; then ride ~400 miles to Busan over ~10 days. From Busan we'll take the train back to Seoul and then fly to the Southeast Asia.
So far nothing is planned for Southeast Asia except we'll be attending all 3 days for the MotoGP race in Malaysia. If you have any recommendations we'd love to hear them.
Part 3: Road Trip: Mad Helen Fury Road
Approximate dates: 2024-11-28 to 2025-01-31
If you thought the motorcyle road trip was a lot wait until you see this! Here's the first draft of our plan (subject to change):

During this trip we'll take the time to say hi to family members and friends across the country.
Part 4: Ski Bumming
Approximate dates: 2025-02-01 to 2025-03-29
The trip will finish with 2 months of ski bumming in Whistler, the largest Ski Resort in North America. Visitors are welcome but unfortunately we don't have a spare bed because Whistler is more expensive than we initially thought it'd be.
Post-trip
After the break we'll begin life in Chicago, IL. We deeply love California and there's a chance that Chicago isn't right for us, so the plan is to try living and working there and assess how we feel about it after a trial year.
